The Easiest Fried Mushrooms Recipe

Deep fried or pan fried mushrooms are extremely easy to prepare, you basically need just 6 or 7 ingredients and about 30 minutes of your time. Fried mushrooms can be served as an appetizer, but you can turn them into a full dinner by adding a side of mashed potatoes, for example.

  • 500 g of mushrooms of choice I prefer smallish White button mushrooms or Cremini.
  • ½ cup of all purpose flour
  • ½ cup of breadcrumbs plain or seasoned
  • 2-3 eggs beaten
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Mashed potatoes as the side optional


  • Clean the mushrooms and remove stems (optional).
  • Dredge each of them in all purpose flour that you have seasoned with salt.
  • Beat 2-3 eggs, season with salt and pepper and dip the mushrooms in them.
  • Coat the mushrooms in breadcrumbs, make sure the breading is solid and all parts are covered.
  • Fry in vegetable oil on medium high heat until golden brown.
  • Serve the finished fried mushrooms with tartar sauce or a side of mashed potatoes and some salad.
